National Cleanse Your Skin Week - Creating A Monthly Skincare Routine

CleanseYourSkin

Hi Beauties!

We've finally made it to the last day of National Cleanse Your Skin Week. This is a bittersweet moment but know that we're not going to stop discussing skincare here, it's what I do!

If you missed any of the blogs this week, you can view them HERE.

Yesterday we discussed the double cleansing method and I also gave you three different routines, daily, weekly and monthly.

Today I want to talk about how to switch up your routine to better suit your skin needs and how to be proactive. I'll also be sharing a calendar for you to keep track of your skincare routine.

Switching up your routine

When you're following your skincare routine, your skin will start to get better/clear up or there maybe another issue you will need to tackle. But adding more and more products to your routine can be overwhelming. Don't get discouraged, it's not as hard as you think. Yes you'll need products to tackle the issue but you don't need to apply it all at once.

Most products tackle more than one issue at a time as we learned in the blog about Ingredients For Your Skin Type/Issue. So this will make purchasing other items to a minimum. Let me give me an example of what I'm talking about.

Let's say you're using products for acne. Some of the marks have disappeared but some still remain. You'll want to use a product to even skin tone or lighten marks. This can be easily incorporated. Whichever is the main issue, use products to combat that. You can easily purchase a cream to tackle the spot treat the dark spots. You would apply the cream to the area prior to applying your serum. Truth be told, if its a lot in an area, just rub in that area. We don't have time to dotting up our face. Knock them out all at one. Then apply your serum and continue with your routine.

Do you see what I did here. I didn't say buy all products for the "secondary issue", just buy the most potent product in that line of products for the issue. Now if the issue was vice versa, and your secondary issue was acne. Your line of products will tackle hyperpigmentation/dark spots and you would purchase a spot treatment for acne.

I've notice that some will use one system for their morning routine and another for nightime routine and that is fine as well. If this works for you, go for it!

I hope these examples make sense. Take your time to figure out what is your main issue, then your secondary issue. Look at your products and see what all it tackles then plan accordingly. If you don't see the results you were hoping for with your main product, then plan to purchase a secondary product.

So now that we have the main pieces to creating our skincare routine, I have created a calendar for you to create your own. I've created a template you can follow or you can edit it to fit your life.

It has been an absolute pleasure providing this info to you. I hope it has been informative and you are able to create a skincare routine for yourself now that you know how to identify your skin type, and which ingredients you need for your type and/or issue.
I'll see you in the next blog!
